Vintage Zell Fifth Ave Metal Double Sided Music Box Compact Evening Purse

Description

This lovely metal box evening purse by Zell Fifth Ave. is double sided and features it’s original powder compact with labeled powder puff (and a tiny bit of powder!), lipstick holder, mirror and comb. The opposing side has an open area with clip for money, a hankie, or other necessities. The purse has a wave pattern combination of gold snd silver toned metal. There is slight tarnishing on one side of the front of the purse but I did not attempt to polish the metal, leaving it as found.
This evening purse has a music box designed to play The Anniversary Song (1946) by Al Jolson when the compact side of the purse is opened. (The music box plays, but is slow and needs some prompting by turning the wind up handle.)
The box purse measures 4” x 3” x 1.25” deep. It has a 10” snake chain handle.
