Vintage ELGIN Compact AMERICAN BEAUTY MOP Pastel Beauty a CLASSIC Collectible

Description

Here is a high line metal compact that measures about 2 1/2” square.
It is marked inside American Beauty, Elgin American Made in USA.
The front has an elegant Art Nouveau floral design in pretty colors of Edwardian mauve and pastel green and center is mother of pearl square. The center is either mop or glass done to resemble mop. You decide.
Inside the mirror does have under glass spotting

photos. (Glass companies can replace and cost is minimal)
The inside flip pan opens and closes securely and there is loose powder residue inside.
Back has stripe design and some minor scratches. Outer silver tone metal is in good vintage condition.
Some spots on metal and minuscule nick on a top edge. Not that noticeable in person remember you are seeing under close up camera scrutiny.
Also could be called environmental friendly as these were made to fill and use again. Every lady wanted and used compacts.
Probably a 1960s piece right before plastic throw aways were introduced .
This would have been in it’s heyday a more expensive compact. Compact has some weight to it not flimsy style.
Wonderful to collect as so many designs and colors.
American Elgin was a premier American company known for their watches and quality compacts.
Would also make a forever gift.
