    Description

    Presented is an uncut bolt of 42-star flags, commemorating the addition of the state of Washington to the Union. The flag bolt dates to 1889-1890, and is printed on cotton. The bolt has four flags printed on it, three of which are 42-star American flags, and one flag that was incorrectly printed with only 24 stars in the canton. This 24-star flag presumably was cut short, as the canton is not proportional to the flag. Each flag has 13 red and white stripes.
