With the PCP-USB stethoscope, clinicians are able to evaluate patients from a distance. The availability of an optional, state-of-the-art software program allows clinicians to conveniently and easily conduct auscultations, listen locally, automate mic switching, and adjust any of five distinct audio filters to allow for the best quality sound regardless of clinical use or body site.
The PCP-USB has an amplifier plus analog-to-digital converter (ADC), encoder, formatter and USB interface chip imbedded in the chestpiece. Since the PCP-USB contains all the key audio processing elements built into the stethoscope, it provides consistent quality independent of the quality of the user’s PC audio circuitry. Sound quality is excellent and total cost of ownership is the lowest among any of the digital transmission stethoscopes used with transmission software.
The PCP-USB stethoscope can be used with RNK’s PCP-SSP in-band software. It can also be used standalone, without software, by switching the audio source manually in the videoconference software. Frequency filtering and local monitoring features are available only with software."
