A bird-lovers journey through the hills and hollers around Chattanooga ca. 1895.
A gentleman from Massachusetts takes a sojourn to Chattanooga, Lookout Mountain, Missionary Ridge, and Walden's
Mountain in search of birds, flora and fauna. Spends much of his time roaming the hills and valleys around the area,
walking, taking trains or streetcars in order to reach his destinations and describes these events.
The most interesting aspect for myself was his interactions with the locals, "negros", and Confederate Veterans. On his
journeys he occasionally stumbles upon humble cabins and their occupants and describes the conditions in which he
finds these people, their attitudes and their conversations. He sees evidence of the War Between the States, visits
Orchard Knob where Grant's headquarters was located during the Battle of Missionary Ridge and Lookout Mountain.
He also visits the National Cemetery.
Just insert the CD into your Windows computer and use the menu to open your book(s), and to download the latest version
of Adobe Reader. If your system security prevents the CD from auto loading, just double-left click the Autorun file on the CD.
For MAC
