Set 4 EAPG MERCURY GLASS Centurion ROMAN GOD GODDESS COASTERS Sawtooth Rimmed

Description

This set of four antique coasters are absolutely stunning! Measuring 3.75" in diameter they are pressed mercury glass with an image of a Trojan or Roman God or Goddess Warrior, Gladiator, or Centurion. The rims have a small fine sawtooth design and none of them are chipped. There is surface wear in various areas. The backs are very interesting as they appear to have two layers of glass. The bottom of the back is smooth and has one raised band. Below that you are able to see the inverted image of the figure on the front. There are many wavy lines and layers along with straw marks. The back is basically the tell of the age. I have a Minerva dish I will be listing soon and that's the pattern I thought of when I saw these, though I have no idea if they are related or not.
