My flock is rasied on 7 acres of land with half of it being woods my chickens free ranged from sun up to sun down foraging for alot of their food my eggs are bright orange almost red orange yolks these birds I have are used to free ranging and I haven't lost not 1 bird in over a year now they do have shelter to get away from predators and placing roost at night in my shelters/pens. Their diets consist of whole grains suck as corn, wheat, oats, black oil sunflower seeds, milo, barley, and I soak and sprout the seed a bit before I feed it out to them to give then even more nutrients and prebiotic in their diets. My chickens also get plenty of fruits and Vegetables as I have a fruit tree orchard I have around 25 fruit trees cherry, peach, apple, plum, pear, as well as blueberry, rasberrys, Blackberrys, strawberrys, red black and green grapes and I grown tons of tomatoes, and tons of other vegetables the point of this is that alot of this falls on the ground and the chickens will eat as a good part of there diet and I'll also pick some and feed it to them. My eggs have excellent fertility and hatching rates my hatch rates in my GQF sportsman incubator is 90% and up I've had 100% hatch rates even. I have alot of rooster to hen ratio so my hens are extreamly fertile
