    O'Brien County, Iowa:
    Cities and Towns
Early days in the towns and cities of O'Brien County, IA, are recalled in this 52-page illustrated booklet, an excerpt from the hard-to-find:
    History of O'Brien County, Iowa
by D.A.W. Perkins, first published in 1897. This new spiral bound booklet is printed on 11" x 8.5" 60# bond paper. We were able to fit two pages from the original book on each sheet in our booklet, so it contains quite a bit of information.
The covers are an 80# card stock. The 3-color front cover is protected with a vinyl sheet. The booklet, titled:
Cities and Towns of O'Brien County, Iowa USA
is one of over 525 historic titles we have reproduced, all preserving the writings of early historians. Although the booklet is new, due to the deteriorating condition of the 100+ year-old original book, the printing is sometimes light. A second booklet, covering the history of O'Brien County, is also being offered on eBay. You won't find these booklets at your local book store! !
    Communities covered are:
Calumet, Archer, Gaza, Paullina, Sutherland, Hartley, Primghar, Sheldon, and Sanborn
    .
There is also a section on the Railroad Division.
The story of the first wedding in Sheldon, an interesting court proceeding and other tidbits of history have been preserved here, along with many names of early residents.
In the Paullina section, for instance, there are lists of real estate purchasers, members in the brass band, officers of fraternal organizations, business men and city officials.
Wouldn't this make a unique gift?
