    The Early days in Clarke County, Alabama, are explored in this brand new 11"x 8 1/2" spiral-bound booklet, reprinted from the 1923 book "History of Clarke County by John Simpson Graham.  The  booklet is 114 pages long.

    The first part of the booklet concerns
    the early history of the county, the Salt Lands, the Sample-Williams Clay and Color Company, White Sulphur Well, Choctaws in Clarke, Battle of Maubila, White Settlers, a Vivid description of a barbaric massacres, the War of 1812, Isaac Heaton, Isham Kimbell, the Griffin family, Heroes of the Canoe Fight, Migration to Clarke County, Description of an Indian Ball Game, Jackson in 1816, Businesses, Mule traffic in Clarke, Tallahatta Springs, the Civil War,  Reconstruction, Oven Bluff, Jackson 1875, the Red Cross in Jackson, World War Soldiers (with a long list of names), Thomasville, Grove Hill, Walker Springs, Salitpa, and other towns, Jackson churches, Jackson in 1923, the C.L.
