Description
Privately Published in 1962 (I can't find a date, and two listing I can find online have dates of publication of 1962 and 1970; given there are letters in this dated 1967, I will assume this is the date of publication), this is a 500-year family history of the Sicard family in the diocese of Saint-Pons, Languedoc. The paper covers are covered in a thin plastic protective sheet. 305 solidly bound pages, no interior markings, several glossy pages with genealogical trees, photos, and illustrations. There is a folding map in back, not shown in listing photos. Fully in French, authored by Roger Sicard. Most interesting are four letters handwritten with letterhead, "Roger Sicard", dated in what appears to be 1967. Three are small sized table paper and one is normal sized paper. The signature is the same on all four letters, and it does not appear to be Roger Sicard - see listing photos. As the letters are in French and in script, I wasn't about to try and decipher them. One of the smaller sized pages did identify a Bathelemy Sicard the spouse of Catherine Cahusac, and identified pages where more information on this couple can be found - indeed, they can be found on the genealogy tree found adjacent to page 70 which was noted in the letter. So I would gather that these letters were helping the original owner of this book trace his family lineage.
A VERY INTERESTING GENEALOGICAL FIND PROVIDING FAMILY HISTORY OF A FRENCH FAMILY!
