Manufacturer-Recommended Application Instructions
Proper surface preparation is the key to successful application. Remove all debris by brushing, sweeping or power washing. Clean the pond surface of oil or grease using Herco Cleaner (Link below).
Apply one coat of Herco PSC Primer (Link below) to entire surface using brush, roller or spray gun. Allow to dry for 3-4 hours.
Apply three coats of Herco Fish Pond Coating using quality brush, short-nap roller or spray gun. Drying time can vary depending on temperature, humidity and other conditions. Only apply between 45-90 degrees Fahrenheit, and allow a minimum to 3-4 hours between coats.
Allow the final coat of Herco Fish Pond Coating to cure for at least 5 days. Rinse entire surface with fresh water, flush or backwash your filter and drain completely before filling with water.
It is recommended to introduce several small "test" feeder fish to the pond to verify that the pond environment is safe and in order to build up the biological filter. If the "test" fish are healthy and behaving normally after 48 hours, add larger fish gradually, no more than two at a time every 24 hours.
