    I used this device  for point of care vascular doppler (THIS IS NOT THE FETAL MODEL)for about seven years in my internal medicine office. It is incredibly useful for locating a pulse particulary in lower extremities and measures comapred to full standard ultrasound peak velocity,  useful in  the carotid system. It will not tell you wheterh yoyu are reading the external or internal carotid artery. It is a vital instrument for any vascular surgeon or cardiologist.
