    Description

**This listing is for 1 dozen hatching eggs.**
Our flock originated from Greenfire farms.  These girls are in their 2nd laying season and have not been inbred.
There are 2 varieties of the Deathlayer breed - gold and silver.  We raise the both varieties, and they are absolutely stunning with their black eyes and gorgeous feathers.  We think these are one of the prettiest birds available and we are so excited to have them on our farm!
The name "Deathlayer" is a translation from the German word "Totleger".  These birds are native to Germany.  There are theories as to why the name was chosen.  Some say the name was earned due to their egg laying abilities - said to lay an egg daily until they die..  Another theory is that the breed was first described by a different name in German, Dauerleger, meaning "day layer" and over time the name changed to Totleger.  Either way, they are great layers of a medium-sized white egg.
Our eggs may show a little dirt from time to time, because we do not clean hatching eggs (as that would decrease your hatch rate, and that's never a good thing).  We ship the eggs with the pointed end down, air cell up, wrapped in bubble wrap around the edges, with some room for the eggs to breathe.  Please do not suggest alternative packaging, as your request will not be met.  We take great care in our packaging and do our best to make sure your eggs arrive as safe as possible when being shipped.  We will send a few extras with each order when possible, in case any are damaged during shipping.  However, we are not liable for damage during shipping, and request that you please file a claim with USPS in the case where your box is greatly damaged.  If you would like us to request the post office to hold for pickup, just let us know and provide your phone number when purchasing
Please note that we are not responsible for your hatch rate, due to various methods being used (out of our control), and the fact that eggs are stressed more when being shipped.  We recommend letting them rest for a day once received, prior to incubating.  With that being said, our customers have reported successful hatch rates, and we only send fresh eggs so please be sure to research prior to incubating, to ensure the best hatch rate possible.
We do not accept returns on hatching eggs.  There are many websites and tons of information regarding incubating eggs, here is an article that may be of some interest: http://thecountrychickblog.com/2013/06/tips-for-hatching-shipped-eggs/
Thanks for looking, and let us know if you have any questions at all!
