Antique Sandwich Glass Canary Glass "Hexagonal" Candlestick Holder, The Boston and Sandwich Glass Co., Sandwich, MA., c. 1840-1860. This canary glass candlestick holder is a beautiful example of Sandwich glass in very good condition. This example has an hexagonal socket, and a pressed hexagonal base. This type of candlestick is listed in, "A Guide To Sandwich Glass", by Barlow and Kaiser, #4031, where a single canary glass candlestick was valued at 0 back in 1984. SIZE: The candlestick is are 7 7/8" H. x 2 3/16" Dia. at the hexagonal top and 4" Dia. at the hexagonal base. CONDITION: Good condition with chip where socket meets the wafers at the top of the candlestick. There are also some tiny nicks to the rim of the candle cup. There are also the flaws you expect to see in early pressed glass such as bits of sand, bubble, striations and other flaws. This canary glass candlestick holder is a beautiful example of Sandwich glass in very good condition.  This example has an hexagonal socket, and a pressed hexagonal base.  These two are joined by a wafer, which helps to determine that this example was produced at the Sandwich Glass factory.
