    Description

5 1/2” tall Fine Cut amber pressed glass Bouquet Holder, made circa 1880’s.  The tall boot shaped bud vase stands on a pad, which is embossed “Bouquet Holder Pat. Applied For”.  This boot is a “right foot” piece.  The boot is shown on pages 69 (1886 Patent information) and 83 of “Collectible Glass Shoes, Identification and Value Guide” by Earlene Wheatley, Collector Books, 1996. My Findlay Glass book shows a nearly identical (smooth top) boot, so it may have been made at one of the Findlay, Ohio glass factories of the 1880’s.
Condition:  the boot itself has no issues, but the base pad has a chip on one side, and slight edge roughness near the chip.  Then on the other side of the base, at the point in the center, there is an interior crack.  Those points on both sides of the base are the most vulnerable spots, and often damaged.  No other damage noted.
