THIS ITEM IS---ONE OF THREE Super Cool Scarce UNITED STATES INSPECTORS CERTIFICATE TO ENGINEERS that I have up right now,
THIS ONE TO certify that CHARLES R. MALCOLM has been suly examined by the undersigned Local Inspectors of Steamboats for the district of ( PORTLAND MAINE  ) as to his qualifications as an Engineer of STEAM VESSELS and found to be a competent and reliable person to be entruste with the powers and duties of ( CHIEF ENGINEER ) and he is therefore hereby licensed to act as such for the term of one year from this date, ON ANY STEAMER OF 1500 TONS OR UNDER. given this 24th day of APRIL 1882
